A burglary occurred on Wednesday,
February 29, 2012, at a residence in the 16900 block of Gerting Road
in Monkton, a neighbor observed a small dark green or black colored
4 door car in the victim’s driveway. Earlier that same day, a home
owner residing in the unit block of Manor Brook Road had contacted
the police and advised that he had observed a black male knock on
his door and then look in the windows. When he confronted the
person, the black male then left and fled the area in a small to
medium size green car.
It appears that at this time that
the suspect(s) pull up into a driveway, park, and then knock on
doors to see if anyone is home. If no response then they look into
the windows and if no movement is seen, will then break in and take
items that can be easily hand carried. If they are confronted by a
home owner, they will flee the area.
At the current time, a description
of the car being used is a small-medium dark green 4 door. The
suspect observed is a black male looking “ordinary” in appearance,
medium in height and build with a close hair cut. He was wearing a
neutral tone wind breaker type jacket.
The car may have a tag with the
numbers 6978. The tag may either be from Maryland or Pennsylvania.
If you should observe the vehicle or
the suspect, please call 911 immediately to have a patrol car
dispatched.
